What it is

Plesk Obsidian is proprietary server-management software installed on a separately purchased VPS or dedicated server. Web Admin, Web Pro and Web Host licenses apply per server and allow up to 10, 30 or unlimited domains, with edition-specific WordPress, developer, reseller and security capabilities. VPS and dedicated license types describe the permitted host environment, not different features. Plesk simplifies administration but the operator still owns server capacity, OS lifecycle, credentials, extension risk, monitoring and recoverable off-server backups.

Panel exposure: A privileged internet-facing control plane increases patching, MFA, firewall and monitoring requirements.
Local backup coupling: Backups stored only on the managed server can disappear with server or subscription loss.

Plesk can reduce repetitive multi-site administration, but it does not outsource server operations; choose the edition by real domain and tenant count, price infrastructure and extensions, restrict privileged access, and restore an encrypted off-server backup before production.
